Chose The Shoes

(NZ. Press Association—Copyright)

LONDON, December 28. A woman shopper bought a pair of shoes in a store, opened the shoe-box later at home and found she had “bought” £5OO, the “Daily Mirror” reported. Meanwhile police had been told of the loss.

But the customer telephoned the store, asked if they still had her shoes, then arranged to return and swap the £5OO for the shoes. The money, mostly in notes, was a Derby store’s taking which had been placed by an assistant in an empty box.
