TRADE LOST IN CHINA
Recognition Ry N.Z. Urged (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 28. The time had come when New Zealand should recognise the People's Republic of China, a wool buyer. Mr L. W. Tattersfield, who pays yearly visits to the Chinese mainland, said today. Most countries were trading freely and openly with China, he said. Mr Tattersfield said New Zealand’s non-recognition did not bother the Chinese, “but it is incongruous that we are trying to build up trade and will not recognise the existence of a good customer.”
