Next Fast In March
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, Dec. 28. Mr Arthur Smith, who gave up his fast to draw attention to the large number of road accidents on Saturday, now plans another fast in March “to show up the mere pittance paid to old age pensioners.” One of the first things Mrs J. S. Peters, a Bluff grandmother who has been fasting since December 23, will have when she ends her fast on Saturday will be a cup of tea. Mrs Peters is fasting in an attempt to bring home to people their moral obligations as drivers.
