RUGS FOR INVALIDS
Sheepskins Used Sheepskin - rugs and cushions which give “basic comfort” to those who are paralysed have received official blessing in Britain. The Polio Research Fund will include rugs, heel “muffs” and wheelchair cushions in its handbook of approved equipment for the disabled. i This was decided after i trials at Mary Marlborough Lodge, Oxford, where equipI ment of ail types is tested iand adapted to the requirepnents of people all over ; England. The trials were sponsored by the International Wool Secretariat, which is also collaborating in research on the nursing of frail, elderly and long-term patients on sheepskins. i Mr C. Garrow, of the technical staff of the secretariat, said in London that suitable skins were available in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. A number of British firms had arranged to i import them.
