MURDER CHARGE

AUCKLAND, Dec. 23.

A 52-year-old woman appeared before Mr R. M. Grant, S.M., today, on a charge of murder. She is Margaret Murray Doull, manageress, of Beach road, Takanini, and was charged that on August 22, 1964, at Takanini, she murdered Janet Bell Greenhorn. On the application of Mr G. D. Speight, of the Crown Solicitor’s office, Doull was remanded in custody until January 19. Her counsel, Mr P. A. Williams, agreed to the remand. No plea was taken.

The arrest came after a long inquiry by the police into the death of Mrs Greenhorn, aged 54, a widow.
