Manufacturers’ Comparison

Canterbury fared worst of the four main centres in sales of manufactured goods, according to a survey of trading conditions for the quarter ended September 30, prepared by the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation and reported to the council of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association.

Compared with this period in 1963, Auckland sales rose 8 per cent, Wellington’s 9 per cent, Canterbury’s 6 per cent, and Otago-Southland’s 7 per cent Other comparisons were:—
