Great Adios In Fine Trial
“The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, December 16. The Auckland hope for the Pezaro Handicap on Saturday and the Auckland Cup on December 28, Great Adios, was the star performer at Alexandra Park yesterday when barrier trials were held. The Captain Adios five-year-oid beat a good field decisively in 3min 31 2-ssec for 13 furlongs and 96 yards, time very close to Cardigan Bay’s course record of 3min 31 sec.
A pleasing feature of the trial was the good showing for second of Blue Prince, which has been off the scene for some time and while he did not have much chance with Great Adios he finished on gamely. Vai Avert!, Gay Reel, Dandy Andy and Highland Doo finished well down the course.
