AUCKLAND FAIR

Pavilion Will Cost £hn. (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 16. More than 100 representatives of Auckland’s civic, business and industrial community today gave their support to the proposed 1966 international trade fair. They gave the fair steering committee approval to proceed with the building of a £250,000 pavilion providing it can obtain guarantees of £lOO,OOO for it. the pavilion were given withGuarantees of £3BOO for in five minutes. The meeting was told of the proposed financing of the pavilion by an issue of debentures by the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association.

The Mayor (Mr D. M. Robinson) said the fair was planned on large-scale lines and the committee hoped it would help promote New Zealand agricultural and industrial exports. The chairman of the steering committee, Mr R. G. Watkin, said the pavilion would be five times as big as the Auckland Town Hall.
