CENTENNIAL POOL

Reduction Of Charges

A reduction in some of the concession ticket charges for the Centennial Pool was approved by the City Council last evening. All admission charges were increased recently. On the recommendation of the baths committee, the council reduced from £1 12s to £1 5s the monthly concession ticket for adults and from 12s to 10s the similar concession for children. The charges for swimming or surf club members were reduced from £1 4s to £1 for adults and from 9s to 7s 6d for children. The committee’s adjustments granting surf club members the same concession rates as members of swimming clubs, and charging children’s rate for all children in school uniform were confirmed.

A report showed that the charge on rates for baths was £15,767 in the last financial year, compared with 9324 in the previous year and £652 in 1962.
