CHINA AND U.N.

U.K. To Vote For Entry (N .Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, December 15. Britain would vote for the entry of Communist China to the United Nations when this question was next raised, the Prime Minister, Mr Harold Wilson, said tonight. He told a questioner in the House of Commons: “Our representatives in the General Assembly have been instructed to vote in favour of the usual motion for the representatives of the People’s Republic of China to take the seat occupied by the Nationalist representative.” An opposition Conservative member, Mr Gilbert Longden, urged the Prime Minister to make it clear that no condition could be made by Communist China that its sovereignty over Formosa must be recognised before it entered the United Nations. Mr Wilson: “I do not think that is likely to be an issue raised in this particular vote.”
