BETTER THAN AUST.
Young Women Drivers (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Nov. 18. Miss Sandra Gallagher, a former employee of a rental car company in Sydney, who is on a visit to New Zealand, considers West Coast drivers are as good as any in New Zealand. In Greymouth yesterday she gave special praise for young women drivers who. she says, are far more competent than those of the same age in Australia. The reason, she considers, is that girls in New Zealand can obtain their driving licences earlier than in Australia where the age limit is 17 and consequently are more experienced drivers at an earlier age. Miss Gallagher came to New Zealand at the beginning of the year to train staff for rental car firms and has worked in both Auckland and Christchurch offices. She is returning to Australia this week to open an office in Brisbane.
