(VZ. Press Association! AUCKLAND, Nov. 8. Grafton scored its second exciting victory in succession in Auckland club cricket on Saturday.

One run short of a first innings lead, the last Papatoetoe batsman, P. Havill, snicked the ball to second slip, who jiggled it to third slip, who took the winning catch.

Points after four matches are Eden-Roskill 21, Cornwall 20, Grafton 18, Western 16, Eastern 12, University 12, North Harbour 5, Papatoetoe 3. Scores:—

Scoring the first outright win In the Dunedin competition, the Dunedin club took a clear lead by beating last season’s champion, Albion, by six wickets on Saturday.

The outstanding individual feat was a fine double by the former New Zealand representative, E. W. Dempster, who took 10 wickets for 69 runs and hit 32 and 77 not out for North East Valley, Results:— Dunedin 176 (K. O. Campbell 53, D. E. C. McKechnie 7/49) and 48/4, beat Albion 118 and 104 (F. J. Dempster 77 not out) beat Taieri 115 (Dempster 6/32) and 107/8 (Dempster 4/37) on the first innings. University 149 and 85, beat Carisbrook 131 and 67 (A. Matatumua 6/30) by 36 runs.
