INVERCARGILL, November 8.

The 54ft Bluff crayfishing vessel, Tarewai which went aground at Mason’s Bay, Stewart Island on Friday night was towed into Bluff Harbour at 10 o’clock tonight by the fishing vessel, Miss Southland, owned by G. B. Roderique.

The Tarewai was believed to be making water. The Miss Southland left Bluff for Mason’s Bay on Saturday night after attempts to puli the vessel off the rocks by the naval protection launch Manga on Friday night failed. The Tarewai was built in 1911 and has been at Bluff

only two months. It was bought from Auckland by two former taxi drivers. Messrs R. Ballantyne and H. Mclntosh, and was making its maiden voyage as a crayfishing vessel. The owners, who were on the vessel when it went aground were taken off on Friday night
