ANTARCTIC PROJECTS

Contest Results Announced Children as far away as Reefton and Geraldine entered projects for the Antarctic competition sponsored by “The Press,” the results of which are announced today. Many of them went to a great deal of trouble, using their own drawings and paintings, painstaking lettering, and photographs, maps, and graphs clipped from a wide variety of sources. The judges were surprised to find that the best projects in the primary schools’ section were in many ways superior to most of the postprimary school entries. Projects were prepared by children as young as eight years. Prizes will be presented to the following children at a function in the Civic Theatre at 8 p.m. on Monday:— Post-Primary Section.— Hilary Wilmshurst, 17 Stourbridge street, Cashmere High School (17 years), 1; Ann Worthington, 3 Aotea terrace, university student, (18 years), 2; Christopher Cole, 100 Barbour street, Shirley Boys’ High School (17 years), 3.
