XV eight-Lifting Titles A 16-year-old junior from Canterbury, G. Wong, won the bantam-weight division of the South Island weight-lifting championships at Timaru. He beat another junior. 13-year-old C. Fornd (South Canterbury), by 151 b, having a body-weight advantage of 91b. In the results, the figure in parenthesis is the competitor's body weight, the first figure given is for the press, followed by the snatch, the clean and jerk, and the total.
