Chamber To Meet Loeal Bodies

To try to bring more industry into Christchurch, the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce would, meet two local bodies soon, ‘ said the chamber's secretary (Mr P. L. Bush) yesterday.

The chamber, he said, had not yet received a reply from the Christchurch City Council. Next month at separate meetings, both Paparua and Waimairi County Councils would listen to suggested incentives to try to bring industry to Christchurch. The suggested incentives included lower power charges for industry; more leaseholdE land to reduce land buying costs for small concerns, andlower rates.
