Paint Failure?
Sir, —Could you advise me whom I could approach for some reliable advice. I had my house painted two years ago last April and the paint on the roof has (seemingly from the ground) peeled or washed off or rusted through. The painter who did the job says it is the iron; a carpenter who has worked for very many years with the one builder says it is the paint. The iron has not gone patchy all over but there is a square block at the back of the house. I did approach the paint firm but they kept dilly-dallying and never came to see it. I cannot expect at this stage to have the painter repaint if it is his bad work in thinning down his paint, but I do want to know
whether it is the paint or the roof that I will have to renew. Please help.—Yours, A LONE WOMAN RATEPAYER.
