Rain Halts Test Play
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CALCUTTA, October 21. A heavy 10-minute tropical downpour today prevented play before lunch on the fourth day of the third cricket test between Australia and India. The rain left the ground soaked and also left some parts of the pitch wet There were showers after lunch but when the weather cleared the ground was soaked and play was abandoned for the day. An opening stand of 115 by Simpson and Lawry yesterday left Australia one for 143 at stumps.
