Another College?
An opinion survey recently taken by Christ’s College raised questions on the size of the roll. Most agreed that the school had reached its capacity at 600 but some suggested an increase to 1000. Others considered that a new Church of England school was urgently needed and suggestions ranged from a new day school in the Christchurch suburbs (later to become a boarding establishment) to a new school in the country, in Hawke’s Bay, or Otago.
