One Win From Six Games

New Zealand’s hockey reputation was badly dented when the Olympic team lost its last game, 1-2, to Southern Rhodesia today to finish last in its seven-team section. The team won its first game, against Britain, but was subsequently beaten by Pakistan, Australia, Kenya, Japa nand Southern Rhodesia. The pool, in which the New Zealand team competed, was won by Pakistan, the 1960 gold medallist, with a record of six successive wins. Australia was second and qualified for the semi-finals. The other pool was won by India, with five wins and two draws. Spain finished a point behind to qualify for the semi-finals.
