BANNED FOR 3 YEARS

Boxer Pushed Referee (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) TOKYO, October 19. The Argentine boxer, Jose Chirino, was banned from Olympic and international amateur boxing for three years today for pushing a referee in the Olympic tournament on Saturday night. Announcing the decision, Colonel Rudyard Russell, of Britain, president of the International Amateur Boxing Association, said the executive took into consideration an early apology by letter from the Argentine federation and that Chirino himself had publicly apologised to the United Arab Republic referee, Mr K. Maghraby. The ban on Chirino applies only to international competition. Colonel Russell said it was up to the Argentine federation to decide whether Cherino would be allowed to compete in his own country during the suspension period.
