Khanh Wants To Fight Again

SAIGON, October 10. Major-General Nguyen Khanh today asked that a new Prime Minister be appointed
quickly so that he coul forces “to fight day and His request was made in a letter sent both to the acting Chief of State, Major-General Duong van Minh and to the High National Council which is working on plans for a new government. General Khanh agreed at the end of August, after religious and political riots, to hand over government to civilians by October 17. The High National Council, a 17-man body consisting of respected community leaders announced that it will be ready to announce a new provisional constitution next week. Sources close to the council said the first draft had been completed yesterday and it was being tidied up over the week-end.
