False Call To Firemen

The Christchurch Fire Brigade received a malicious false alarm call to the Regent Theatre at 6.48 p.m. yesterday. Four appliances, including the turntable ladder, were sent to the theatre.

At 6.55 p.m. Sydenham firemen put out an oven fire in a house occupied by Mr W. McDonald at 8 Lucian place. A 10ft x 9ft wooden shed was damaged by fire at 8.26 p.m. It is on property at 239 Riccarton road occupied by Mrs A. Robinson. Sockburn and Headquarters firemen put out the blaze.
