VOYAGE TO N.Z.

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) VANCOUVER, October 4. The 37ft catamaran Judy Al set sail on a 10,000-mile voyage today after her fourman crew carried aboard their skipper' and’ his wheelchair. Casting off ended 15 years of scrimping, designing and dreaming by Russ Lewendon, aged 47, a former merchant seaman. Injured by a fall into a ship’s hold 25 years ago and partially paralysed since, Mr Lewendon commanded the project from his wheelchair. He will guide the 2 Hon vessel on a nine-month trip to Auckland.
