Second Golden Fleece Success

(N.Z. Press Association)DUNEDIN, October 4. The difference of one blowover five sheep decided the Golden Flece fine wool shearing championship in Alexandra bn Saturday. The blow meant victory for last year’s titleholder, 1. Kneed, of Australia. Second was R. J. Direen (North Otago) whose shearing matched the champion at every point. E. Maskill (Cromwell) was the fastest shearer on the board in the semi-finals and finals, but he lost a few points on quality, a factor which eliminated many of the country’s top shearers. The large field included two Australians, Kneed and J. McEvoy, of Sydney.
