94,000 Sacks Of Oysters

(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Oct. 2. Eighteen boats landed 94,805 sacks of oysters on 123 days this season, figures released by the Southland Harbour Board show. For September, the catch was 13,359 sacks. The 1964 season bettered the previous one by 20,172 sacks,' but was 30,285 sacks below the 1961 record of 125,000 sacks. Bluff oystermen say that catches seem to be decreasing per boat per season over the last few years, but this year has been better than last;
