High Standard Of Display There wax an exceptionally high standard of performance when the Canterbury gymnastic championships began at Cowles Stadium yesterday. A feature of the preliminary sections of the championships was the marked degree of Improvement over last year’s standard, and competition was keen and close. St. Andrew's College A was a clear winner in the teams youths novice grade, with 235.02 points. Burnside High School A was second with 188.81 points, and St. Andrew’s College B, with 185 points, was third. Individual novice grade championships decided yesterday were: A. Graham (St. Andrew’s College) 1, I. Henderson (St. Andrew's College) 2, B. Drinnan (C.8.H.5.) 3. The winner and runners-up will give a display of their ability at a special demonstration this evening at Cowles stadium at which gymnastic clubs throughout Christchurch will also take part.
