MINOR FIRES
Damage To Workshop A workshop used for wire work, on property Occupied by Mr E. S. Vincent, at 241 Stanmore road, was damaged by fire yesterday. Firemen from the Headquarters station were called at 1.58 p.m. The fire apparently started when a spark from welding equipment set alight clothing hanging up in the workshop. It is a wooden building, 20ft by 10ft. A chimney fire in the home of Mrs A. Bedelph, 17 Ingoldsby street, at 9.26 a.m., caused no damage. Sydenham firemen attended. A rubbish fire on the property of Mr B. Turner, 303 Russley road, at 10.42 a.m., caused slight damage to a hedge. Sockburn firemen answered the alarm. Fire caused slight damage to a small storage shed on the property occupied by Miss Y. Rust, 1036 Colombo street, at 10.52 a.m. St. Albans and Headquarters firemen attended. A grass fire in a City Council reserve in Dunedin street at 3.52 p.m. caused no damage. St. Albans and Headquarters firemen attended.
