HAREWOOD “OPEN DAY”

Antarctic Show The United States Antarctic naval support force will have an “open day” at Christchurch Airport on October 11. Between noon and 5 p.m. the public will be able to see static and action displays of ground equipment and aircraft used by the Antarctic force. Both the United States Navy and Air Force will participate in the afternoon programme. Although most of the aircraft may be in the Antarctic at the time, those at Christchurch will give a flying display. In previous years the Navy “open day” at Harewood has been one of the' main features of the city’s Antarctic Week. This year the week has been moved to November and another sort of “open day” will be held at Lyttelton, emphasis being on the shipping side of the Antarctic work. Further details of next Sun-
