Offered on account of the Christchurch City Council, a weatherboard bungalow, on a section of a quarter of an acre at 97 Highsted road, Papanui, was sold for £2450 at public auction yesterday. The auctioneer was Mr D. R. Smith. The opening bid was £l5OO. There were seven bids of £lOO, and five of £5O. The house, which needs interior redecoration, has a lounge, three bedrooms, a sunroom, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a laundry. The Government valuation is £2075. The rates are £lB 3s Id. A house at 70 Huxley street, Sydenham, has been sold by private treaty by D. C. Sheppard and Company. The property was passed in at £l3OO at auction on Thursday.
