CHRISTCHURCH CHOIRS

No Further Decision The Royal Christchurch Musical Society has decided not to reconsider its position on the question of contributing voices to a composite choir for the Commonwealth Arts Festival in London next year until the Christchurch Civic Music Council gets some information on the subject in writing from the Government. Mr N. H. Buchanan, chairman of the society, said yesterday, that all the Civic Music Council knew about the Govei*nment's attitude and intentions of financial help was what it had read in the newspaper. His society was also awaiting information sought by cablegram from the festival organisers.

The proposal which the society has already rejected is for a composite choir of voices from its Own choir and | that of the Christchurch Harimonic Society.
