Negotiations for the evacuation of 525 white people were going on be- • tween rebel leaders and International Red Cross officials in Stanleyville yesterday. . '* The rebel-held Radio Stanleyville said they had set up a committee to examine “in-1 dividual cases of persons willing to leave the Congo for good.” The whites were trapped in the Stanleyville area when it was overrun by rebels early in August.
