Died On Way To Hospital
fN.Z. Prest Association) INVERCARGILL, Sept 27. An Englishman, aged 26. died on the way to hospital after his car hit a concrete power pole and rolled over a 17ft bank at Tapanui on Saturday night. “If it wasn’t for his safety belt, he might have been thrown clear and escaped,” Constable G. N. Gear, of Tapanui, said. Parts of the car were widely scattered. The engine was torn out and thrown 30ft. The man’s name will not be released until his relatives in England are notified.
