Carried Back To Prison

(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 9. The prisoner who escaped from Waikune Prison on Tuesday had to be carried back to the prison when captured today. Badly frost-bitten, the prisoner, Benjamin Auti Wikaira, aged 25, was captured in a railway hut not far from the prison at 8.15 a.m. He had been seen in the hut a few minutes earlier by a railway workman. When captured, Wikaira was still clutching a Bible, which he had been seen carrying the day before.
