HEREFORD BULLS
Breeders’ Sale “The Press" Special Sendee MASTERTON, Sept. 8. Of a catalogue of 24 two-year-old bulls offered at the Wairarapa Hereford Breeders’ Association annual sale in Masterton today 14 were sold for an average of 278 guineas. The attendance at the sale was only average but sales were made to districts as far apart as Whangarei and Ranfurly. Waldron brothers of Ranfurly bought Buick Brothers’ Daisybury Sombrero for 140 guineas.
Top price of the sale was 440 guineas paid by G. K. Cliff, of Whangarei, for C. O. Cooper’s Hinanu 130th. Nine Hinanu bulls sold for an average of 290 guineas. Second highest price of 420 guineas was paid by Rewa Rewa station, Masterton, for A. D. McGregor’s polled bull, Ngata Mellomode, Which was also awarded the Wairarapa Stock and Station Agents’ Association Cup for the best unled two-year bull.
