Science School Date

The W. Williamson Construction Co m - pany, Ltd., still hopes to have the big chemistry and physics block of the Canterbury University School of Science ready by the time the 1966 university year begins.

It says the science library will be ready earlier so that books can be moved in. This information was received by the university council yesterday in answer to complaints at the previous meeting that the big block would not be finished in time.

The council indicated that it was still concerned that time would be cut very fine. The district architect of the Ministry of Works (Mr P. C. Cornish) reported that the contractors for stages II and 111 (the other science blocks) expected to complete the contracts on time. Stage 111 estimates were about the same as a month ago.
