Buses Running At A Loss
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 27. Suburban long-distance bus services running at a loss were today listed in Parliament by the Minister of Lands (Mr Gerard) answering a question for the Minister of Railways (Mr McAlpine). Suburban services losing were Napier-Hastings, Wel-lington-Khandallah, Welling-ton-Porirua-Titahi Bay, Hutt Valley, Dunedin suburban and Westport and Greymouth suburban areas.
Long-distance runs were north of Whangarei, South Westland, and services running through isolated and sparsely-settled areas, for example, Rotorua • Waikaremoana.
