Skiers Reach 65 - 70 m.p.h.

Members of the Swiss skiing team were reaching between 65 and 70 miles an hour in practice on the downhill course at the Craigieburn Valley Ski Club’s field yesterday. The complete team—J. Minsch, S. Kalin, E. Bruggman, W. Favre and S. Kaelin, including its manager (Mr W. Haenslij and trainer (Mr A. Hefti)—began serious preparation for the contest against the Canterbury skiers at the week-end. The Swiss made several very fast runs over the course, set by the club’s professional instructor, Heinie Schuler. The snow was.hard and in exceptionally good condition.
