The Traffic Plan
Sir, —“To hell with the flow' of traffic.” This elegant remark by a speaker at the City Planning Study Group’s meeting last Saturday well illustrates' the emotional attitude towards the transportation plan adopted by its ' opponents. It contrasts with the temperate attitude of D. E. Donnithorne, who, in his letter today rightly argues, that Montreal street is a most unsuitable one into which to divert through traffic. 'Whoever prepared the group’s map reproduced last Saturday is not above adopting the master plan’s proposed treatment of. Oxford and Cambridge terraces. The trouble for the group is that this is, part of a. plan, not a device for them to evade a traffic problem.—Yours, etc., OBSERVER. August. 25, 1964.
