HONG KONG DOCTOR
N.Z. Exchange Wanted (N.Z; Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 25. “The eyes of the medical world are trained on Auckland,” a visiting professor of surgery, Professor G. B. One, of Hong Kong, said yesterday. “Wherever I have been overseas people have asked me if I have been to Auckland,” he said. “There ■is dynamic work being done in medicine here.” Professor One, of the university teaching hospital in Hong Kong, has been in Auckland on a four-day visit in an effort to fulfil a personal ambition.
He wants to see an - exchange of doctors, and later nurses, between New Zealand and Hong Kong. •There is much we can learn from each other,” he said. “Certain aspects of medicine, with our population of four million, offer doctors experience you don’t get in New Zealand. And the reverse is true, too. “Hong Kong is isolated from exchange scholarships we are not connected with any country,” said Professor One. He hopes to persuade some organisation to sponsor exchange visits. T came here to learn and in four days Pve visited four hospitals and learnt more than in four years in Hong Kong.”
