Should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Corporate Membership of th* Institution of Mechanical Engineers, have considerable industrial experience and preferably some teaching experience. 2. SENIOR LECTURER IN CIVIL ENGINEERING: To take charge of the Civil Engineering Division of the Department. Should possess a degree in Civil Engineering and Corporate Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers, have considerable Civil Engineering experience and prefer, ably some teaching experience. 3. SENIOR LECTURER IN MATHS/SCIENCE: To take charge of the- Mathematics/Sclence Division of the Department. Applicants should possess an Honours degree In Mathematics or Physics and have had some teaching and/or' Industrial experience. Engineers with speciality In Mathematics may apply, 4. LECTURER/ASSISTANT LECTURER IN:— (a) Mechanical Engineering Candidates will be required to teach some of the following subjects to a level comparable with first degree standard:— Mechanical Engineering Design, Applied Thermodynamics, Mechanics of Machines, Mechanics of Fluids, Strength of Materials. (b) Electrical Engineering Candidates will be required to teach some of the following subjects to a level comparable with first degree standard:— Electrical Power, Electrical Machines, Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Design, Electrical Control Engineering. (c) Civil Engineering Candidates will, be required to teach some of the following subjects to a level comparable with first degree standard:— Civil Engineering Design, Structures, Surveying, Geology, Soil Mechanics. (d) Production Engineering Candidates will be required to teach some of the following subjects:— Engineering Production and Processes, Metrology, Machine Tools, Work Study, Workshop Technology, Tool Design. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have an appropriate degree and preferably Corporate Membership of the appropriate Professional Institution, have considerable practical Industrial experience and preferably some teaching experience. SALARY SCALES Senior Lecturer: Malay dollars 1220 x 40—1500/- per month. Lecturer: Malay dollar* 750 x 35—960/1030 X 35—1100 X 40— 1380/- per month. Assistant Lecturer: Malay dollars 605 X 25-705/- per month.' (1 Malay dollar equals 2s 4d sterling- approximately at present) The point of entry in the above salary scale will depend on qualifications and experience. In addition, there is a variable- allowance which at pres, ent Is 35 per cent for salaries Malay dollars 506/- per month and upwards with a maximum of Malay dollars 150/- per month for a single officer, Malay dollars 280/- per month for a married officer, and Malay dollars 400/- per month for an officer with dependent chlld/children. Overseas appointees who are normally domiciled outside the Malaysia region are also paid an expatriation . allowance of Malay dollars 200/- per month. He will be responsible for carrying out all medical and surgical work at the hospital.
