Farewell To Minister

Parishioners of St. Giles’s Presbyterian Church, Papanui, met to say farewell to the Rev. W. M. Hendrie after the evening service on Sunday. About 300 persons attended, among them clergy from other churches in Papanui and representatives of church, organisations. The Rev. H. C. Matthews, of the Papanui Methodist Church, speaking on behalf of other churches of the area, praised Mr Hendrie’s work in Papanui, and representatives of the church organisations also expressed their appreciation of his work.

Gifts were presented to Mr and Mrs Hendrie and their children. Yesterday the family left for Timaru, where Mr Hendrie will be minister of Chalmers Church.
