HOOD WINS RACE AROUND HOUSES
Amateur cyclists competed tn a round-the-houses event over a H-mile course in Opawa on (Saturday and cash riders com peted for the Amberley Cup in la 40-mlle race from Hornby to Amberley. A. Hood (Tlmaru) won the A grade amateur race over 20 miles after staying with the main bunch for 10 of the 12 laps. T. Talek won four lap prizes in succession. M. J. Willcox, who over the last few weeks has had to be con tent with minor places succeeded on Saturday when he won the Amberley Cup. He was hard pressed most of the way.
