KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 24. The Malaysian DeputyPrime Minister, Tun Abdul Razak, said last night that Malaysia was ■ prepared for exploratory talks with the Philippines to clarify its claim over the Malaysian State of Sabah. “We have made our stand very clear,” he said. “We have
agreed to exploratory talks to allow the Philippines to explain their claim. We have asked for a meeting of ex, perts from both countries to talk things over.” Tun Razak said that the Malaysian Government was now waiting for word from the Philippines on its request for talks, conveyed to the Philippines Government 10 days ago. Tun Razak said the Malaysian Security Forces had “got things under control” in southwest Malaysia, where Indonesian guerrillas landed recently. He said that after his weekend talks with the Thai Foreign Minister, Mr Thanat Khoman, in Bangkok, Thailand had taken special measures to prevent Communists on .the border from exploiting the Indonesian landings. “We on our part have agreed to take care of our side of the border,” he said.
