More Permits Last Month

Increased building activity in the city last month was reflected in a rise in both the number and value of building permits issued by the Christchurch City Council last month.

The 394 permits issued had a value of £766,605. In July of last year there were 357 permits valued at £516,583. The 10 permits issued in the inner central area were valued at £305,321: but Linwood was again the busiest ward, with 96 permits issued for a value of £101,758. For the four months of the financial year the council has issued 1588 permits with a value of £2,414,841. At the same time last year there had been 1491 permits issued, and they had a value of £1,927,133.
