Canterbury: Moderate to fresh west to southwest winds; showers in the alps; elsewhere cloudy at first with some light rain; clearing later in the morning and becoming fine; temperatures cool Outlook: Mainly fine.

Marlborough: Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds, strong at times in exposed places about Cook strait; fine and cool. Outlook: Mainly fine.

Nelson: Moderate to fresh west to south-west winds; fine, except for isolated showers in the ranges; temperatures cool. Outlook: Mainly fine.

Buller and Westland: Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds; unsettled, cool, showery weather. Outlook: Showers.
