Aust. Beaten By Maunsell

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, August 2. A perfect straight left to the jaw brought an early win by a technical knock-out to the Olympic boxer, Brian Maunsell, over the Queensland champion, Henry Jarvis, at Otematata on Saturday night. The punch came after only two minutes of the first of a scheduled three rounds.

Maunsell scored with a left lead to the head .and another left to the body. As Jarvis moved In Maunsell landed the left again, to his opponent's jaw.

Jarvis regained his feet before the end of the compulsory count and seemed prepared to go on, but as they moved together Jarvis sprawled into Maunsell's arms. The fight was then stopped. P. Donovan failed to gain a medical clearance for his lightweight fight against Robert Ryan, and his place was taken by Cary Young, of Wellington. Ryan won on points.
