MEDICAL HONOUR

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 20. Sir Douglas Robb was appointed an honorary consulting medical officer by the Auckland Hospital Board tonight. The appointment was made in recognition of his outstanding service to . the board.

Dr. W. E. Henley, the superintendent-in-chief, said, “Sir Douglas Robb’s contribution to medicine in New Zealand has twice received Royal recognition. His influence on medical standards has been immeasurable.

“His enthusiasm, leadership and industry have left their mark in surgery, education and research throughout New Zealand. The cardiothoracic surgical unit at Green Lane Hospital, which he headed from its inception, has reached a position of international eminence.”
