PARIKINO DRILL

Start This Week

(N.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI, July 20. Drilling at the Parikino oil search site should begin at the' end of this week, said Shell-BP-Todd’s tool pusher on the site, Mr O. Van Snippenbegg, today.

He said materials used in the drilling process were expected at the end of the week, and the well would be “spudded in” as soon as they came to hand.

“At the latest, they would be here early next week,” he said, “and we would start drilling immediately regardless of what time of the day it is.”

Rain had retarded progress a little, and the train derailment had put the project about two days behind, he said, but the rig would be ready when the drilling materials arrived.
