DUNEDIN FOUNDRY
Australian Purchase (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, July 19. Bradford Kendall, Ltd., steel founders, of Alexandria, Sydney, New South Wales, have purchased all the shares of Wilkinson, Callon, Ltd., steel founders, of Dunedin, for an undisclosed sum. The company will continue to trade under the existing name. The foundry will be developed to manufacture in New Zealand additional proprietary lines of the Australian company, as well as continuing and expanding its existing products.
The company was founded by the Wilkihsoa and Callon families in 1910 as a malleable foundry and changed to Steel founding in 1926. It has always carried on business in Dunedin and no change is proposed. Mr W. K. Wilkinson remains as a director of the company and as its general manager. The board has otherwise been reconstituted.
